We have plenty of advice for you, but it usually starts with a question: how do you want to deal with your contaminated soil? Ashford Brown adopts and adapts technologies to suit individual soil types and contaminants, eliminating or reducing the volume of waste that would otherwise need costly landfill disposal.

In-situ remediation lets savings pass back to clients by treating soil on site, heavily reducing off-site disposal cost and waste generation. We provide everything from straight disposal to in-situ treatment, including off-site and ex-situ on-site treatment.

We are always ready to assist our clients.

Treatment options

  • Bio-remediation
  • Chemical oxidation
  • Stabilisation
  • Soil washing
  • Thermal desorption

Non-treatment options

  • Excavation and removal
  • Engineered containment solutions

Why remediate

In most cases the aim is to reduce contaminants to levels that are suitable for use — meaning the site can be used without environmental risk. A typical case: hydrocarbon concentrations in soil are confirmed above safe levels for human health following an environmental risk assessment, and must be dealt with before the site can be developed as housing. In that situation, remediation of soils may be a condition of planning consent.
